On Monday, 28 November 2022 the Mid-Term Review of the Greek international development cooperation system by the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the OECD was held, via videoconference. The Mid-term Review examines the country’s progress in implementing the Recommendations of the 4th Peer Review by the DAC (Peer Review) of the Greek international development cooperation system, which took place in 2018. The Directorate General for Development and Humanitarian Assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented the development aid system of Greece, mainly the latest legislative developments and recent initiatives, as well as the response to the recommendations of DAC following the latest evaluation. DAC will soon issue the evaluation and recommendations for the Greek system of international development cooperation.
In addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Environment and Energy participated in the process, in matters of their competence.
The periodic evaluation of the national development assistance system of its members constitutes a core competence of DAC and offers significant benefits for improving aid delivery to developing countries as well as coordination and exchange of experiences between members and the DAC itself.
