On Wednesday, 27 November 2019, an Event was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on “Promoting Opportunities for Youth Engagement for the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals”.
This Event, which was organized by YDAS-3 Directorate of Geographical Policy and Strategic Coordination, focused on youth’s role as regards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of 2030 Agenda by highlighting youth’s views on actions, legislation and policies that Greece could undertake, at national and global level, for the implementation of SDGs.
Participants included representatives of the Ministries, Independent Authorities, private sector (e.g. Hellenic Network for Corporate Social Responsibility/CSR Hellas, SEV), Civil Society and big enterprises and organizations (e.g. Hellenic Petroleum). Interventions by key speakers included:
Nineteen students from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, the University of the Peloponnese and the National Technical University of Athens presented their own vision and views with respect to the implementation of the SDGs, proposing concrete actions Greece could undertake in order to achieve the 17 SDGs, at the national and global levels. The Event concluded with a theatrical session from the theatrical team of the University of the Peloponnese, under the title “Tragedy, the most vulnerable and hope: let’s give a promise to eradicate Human Trafficking”.
In the margins of this Εvent, participants had the opportunity to view an exhibition of illustrative works of art of students with images conveying the message of each Sustainable Development Goal.
