Seminar on the International Development Cooperation System of Greece for Students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Peloponnese, 11 June 2026

On 11 June 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the University of the Peloponnese, organized a seminar presenting Greece’s International Development Cooperation system. The seminar was attended by students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of the Peloponnese.

The seminar focused on the following topics:

• Legal framework of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Directorate General H (Hellenic Aid)

• Greece’s 2025 Mid-Term Review (MTR)

• Actions to combat hunger and poverty

• Health sector initiatives

• Development and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine

• Humanitarian actions

• Official Development Assistance (ODA)

• Global Gateway

During the seminar, key global development challenges were examined, including climate change, poverty eradication, social and economic inequalities, and the impacts of geopolitical instability. The presentations and discussions highlighted the interdependence of international development initiatives and emphasized the need for effective coordination and strengthened multilateral cooperation. Particular attention was given to Greece’s role as a stable and reliable partner within the international community, as well as to its ongoing contribution to the promotion and implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
