The Joint Synthesis Report of the European Commission on the new European Consensus on Development reflects the impact of the actions of the European Union and its Member States in supporting partner countries towards the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As stated in the new European Consensus on Development, the EU and its Member States are committed to prepare the Joint Synthesis Report every four years, starting this year. The Report will constitute the EU contribution to the United Nations High Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2019.
The Joint Synthesis Report is considered as a political priority for the EU and an important opportunity to: (a) show the EU’s leading role at a global level and (b) map the main development actions of the EU and its Member States, in the context of the implementation of the new European Consensus on Development and the 2030 Agenda.
The Joint Synthesis Report is already under preparation on the basis of an open and collective deliberation process between EU Member States.
