Donation of medical, sanitary and personal protective equipment for COVID-19 in Tunisia

On 2 September 2021, the official handover ceremony of the donation of medical, sanitary and personal protective equipment for COVID-19, from Greece to Tunisia, took place in Tunis. The second package of humanitarian aid, which consists of 100,000 doses of vaccines, is expected to be delivered during the forthcoming visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Tunisia.

The Greek delegation consisted of officials of the Embassy in Tunis, headed by the Chargé d’Affaires, Ms Sofia Kantara, while the Tunisian delegation was headed by the acting Minister of Health, Professor Mr Ali Mrabet.

The Presidency of the Republic of Tunisia issued an official statement, thanking Greece for “its kind initiative that promotes friendship and cooperation between the two countries”, while a relevant video was posted on social media.
