On Thursday, May 26, 2016, a Special Event “Dialogue between Public and Private Sector for the implementation of The Sustainable Development Goals” was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at “ Yiannos Kranidiotis” Amphitheatre.
The meeting, which was organized by YDAS–3 Directorate for Geographical Policy & Strategic Planning, was attended by more than 100 representatives from Ministries, the General Secretariat of the Government, the Hellenic Parliament, Independent Authorities, the Hellenic Police and representatives from Private Sector.
The United Nations General Assembly Resolution 70/1: “Transforming our World: Τhe 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, adopted on September 2015, highlights the key role that the private sector is expected to play in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The mobilization of multilateral partnerships and effective public – private partnerships are necessary (transfer of know-how, technology, financial resources) for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
