Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development, March 7, 2017

A special Event on: “Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development” took place in the Amphitheatre “G. Kranidiotis”, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was attended by 75 executives from all Ministries and other organizations of the public and private sector. The meeting was organized by YDAS – 3 Directorate for Geographical Policy & Strategic Planning, in cooperation with the Office of Coordination, Institutional, International and European Affairs of the General Secretariat of the Government.

During the meeting, all stakeholders stressed the importance of Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development in capitalizing on synergies among the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 169 Targets between different sectoral policies, as well as between different actions at a national, regional and international level. Speakers also highlighted the need for greater coordination between public sector and social partners (private sector, local government and academia) so as to raise citizens’ awareness, interconnect SDGs with the National Growth Strategy (through SDG lens) and have a more holistic approach through interlinkages between different activities of stakeholders.
