Greece is offering care to children from Gaza as part of a coordinated international humanitarian mission involving several organizations, including the European Union, the World Health Organization, the Egyptian authorities, and Greek ministries.
A few weeks ago, a special flight landed in Athens, becoming a “lifeline” for 10 injured children from Gaza and their caregivers, who were desperately seeking medical assistance. Pediatric facilities across Greece opened their doors, with specialized medical staff treating serious injuries such as fractures, burns, and amputations. Prior to their transfer to Athens, the children’s health conditions had been stabilized in Cairo.
The Secretary General for Vulnerable Persons and Institutional Protection at the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, Mr. Heracles Moskof, stated: “These are children with complex injuries — both orthopedic and psychological — who, more than medical care, are in need of safety, stability, and the reassurance that they are no longer in danger.”
