The Hellenic Red Cross sent on March 10, 2023, the 3rd large humanitarian aid to Belen, Turkey, in order to help the thousands affected by the devastating earthquake that hit the country. The Turkish Consul in Athens, Erdem Kutlu, the General Secretary of Social Solidarity & Combating Poverty, Mr. Giorgos Stamatis, and the President of the Hellenic Red Cross, Dr. Antonios Avgerinos were present at the departure of the humanitarian mission.
The humanitarian aid was sent to Türkiye with three (3) trucks and a rescue vehicle, staffed by its specially trained staff and volunteers, transporting approximately 40 tons of humanitarian aid (tents, long-lasting food, blankets, sleeping bags, personal hygiene items etc.). The humanitarian aid was delivered to the Turkish Red Crescent warehouses in Belen.
