The “Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty” is a collaborative, country-driven initiative aimed at accelerating progress on SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger). It provides a platform for governments, international organizations, development banks, philanthropies, and research institutions to align efforts, share expertise, and mobilize resources for impactful, evidence-based policies.
Established under Brazil’s G20 presidency, the Alliance operates independently while maintaining a reporting link to the G20. Unlike traditional aid models, it prioritizes national public policies and fosters synergies among development partners, enhancing efficiency and donor confidence.

Entities can voluntarily join by issuing tailored Statements of Commitment, gaining access to a network of support and cooperation. While the Alliance does not manage its own fund, it facilitates financial matchmaking to support member-driven initiatives. Civil society and private sector actors can also contribute through advocacy, awareness-raising, and participation in policy implementation.
