The 7th High-level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, for the year 2019, will take place in New York on dates to be decided (8-19 July, tentative). In addition to the annual July session, under ECOSOC (United Nations Economic and Social Council) auspices, HLPF will also convene for two days in September, under the UN General Assembly auspices.
The main theme of the HLPF 2019 will be: “Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality”.
An in-depth review of the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be conducted:

8. DECENT WORK & ECONOMIC GROWTH
10. REDUCED INEQUALITIES
13. CLIMATE ACTION
16. PEACE, JUSTICE & STRONG INSTITUTIONS
17. PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS
Furthermore, 42 countries will conduct Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) during the Forum. The following countries will conduct their first VNR: Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Croatia, Eritrea, Fiji, Ghana, Iceland, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lesotho, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mongolia, Nauru, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Palau, Saint Lucia, Serbia, South Africa, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, UK, Tanzania, and Vanuatu; Azerbaijan, Chile, France, Guatemala, Indonesia, Philippines and Sierra Leone will conduct their VNR for a second time
HLPF 2019 will also consider the Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR), which is issued every 4 years.
