On April 7, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the University of the Peloponnese, organized a seminar to present the system of Greece’s International Development Cooperation. The seminar was attended by 32 students from the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of the Peloponnese.
The thematic areas focused on in the seminar were as follows:
- General Principles and Objectives of Greece’s International Development Cooperation System
- Development Assistance from Greece
- Humanitarian Actions of Greece
- Financing for Development
- Peer Review of the Development System of Slovakia by DAC/OECD Secretariat Members – Greece’s Participation in the Evaluation of Slovakia – Preparation for the Evaluation of Greece
- EU Global Gateway Strategy
Throughout the seminar, broader global development challenges were addressed, including climate change, poverty, inequality, and the impact of geopolitical instability. These discussions highlighted the interconnected nature of international development efforts and underlined the importance of coordinated, multilateral action. Greece’s contribution within this global framework was emphasized, particularly in relation to the collective pursuit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
