Following the first donation of 180,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, last August, a second Greek donation of 376,000 vaccines was made on 15 November. The transfer of the vaccines was funded by UNICEF through the COVAX mechanism.
The General Coordinator for Covid-19 issues in Kenya, Ambassador Arthur Andambi, expressed Kenya’s gratitude to Greece, as only 3% of the population in the country has been vaccinated.
The Ambassador of Greece to Nairobi, Mr. Antonios Sgouropoulos, noted that this donation is a sign of sincere friendship between the two countries and of solidarity that should characterize the global community in the fight against the pandemic
