OECD DAC High Level Meting 2025 (Paris, 20 March 2025)

On 20 March 2025, the Members of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) met at high level alongside non-DAC OECD Members, DAC Participants, OECD Accession Countries, OECD Key Partners and non-governmental partners, international organisation, DAC Observers and other external partners, including non-governmental actors.

The Meeting took place at a crucial moment. Progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is severely off track, with high demands on development financing. Thirty years of progress in eradicating extreme poverty are in peril offset by the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuing economic shocks and debt distress, by wars and conflicts, and by the increasingly dramatic effects of climate change in many parts of the world.

Members committed to advance concrete policies and actions for a strengthened global financing framework for sustainable development. They underscored the key role of multilateralism and committed to further revitalising their long-standing partnership with the UN and international financial institutions.

The Fourth Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) will be a critical opportunity to renew these commitments to achieve the SDGs and support reform of the global development architecture.

Greece was represented at the Meeting by Deputy Director-General of the Directorate-General for Development and Humanitarian Assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Eleni Nikolaidou.
