They welcomed the Paris Agreement and its early entry into force and encouraged all its parties to its full implementation. Moreover, they acknowledged the progress made across some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets while they also stressed the importance of an urgent acceleration on the progress towards those with a time frame of 2020. They, also, commended the 46 countries that presented Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) at the 2018 High-level Political Forum and encouraged all countries to make use of the lessons learned from these reviews so as to enhance the domestic implementation of SDGs and support international implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

Finally, they recognized that a strengthening of the means of implementation and a revitalized global partnership for sustainable development is required to achieve the ambitious 2030 Agenda and they pledged to step up their efforts and take the actions needed to effectively implement the Agenda and build sustainable and resilient societies everywhere, reaching the furthest behind first and ensuring that no one is left behind.
