EU-Argentina Investment and Business Forum
The EU Investment and Business Forum in Argentina 2026, to be held on 30 November and 1 December 2026 in Buenos Aires, will bring together around 800 high-level representatives from government, business, financial institutions and international organisations from Argentina and the European Union (EU).
The Forum is organised by the EU in conjunction with a consortium of bilateral European Chambers of Commerce in the country, with the support of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Argentine Investment and International Trade Promotion Agency (PromArgentina).
The Forum is taking place at a pivotal moment for the relations between the EU and Argentina, marked by the renewed momentum of the EU–Mercosur Agreement. Complementing this broader context, the EU’s Global Gateway Investment Agenda (GGIA) in Argentina provides a strategic framework for mobilising sustainable investments in key sectors, such as critical raw materials, energy, agriculture and infrastructure.
Under Global Gateway, the EU and Uruguay co-organise this Business Forum, with the support of the IDB, CAF, EIB and Uruguay XXI, ahead of the first EU-MERCOSUR Council under the Interim Trade Agreement, reinforcing the bi-regional partnership.
Following more than 25 years of negotiations, the provisional application of the EU-MERCOSUR Interim Trade Agreement since 1 May 2026 opens a new chapter in the bi-regional relationship. Against a backdrop of shifting global value chains, growing geopolitical competition and the need to strengthen economic resilience through partnerships with reliable partners, the Agreement has renewed strategic relevance for both regions.
The first MERCOSUR-European Union Business Forum 2026 will bring together political and business leaders to foster new investment, cooperation and business opportunities. Under Global Gateway, the Forum will focus on strategic sectors including agribusiness, digital transformation, logistics and transport, energy and critical raw materials.
