During his visit to Benghazi, on 17 November 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Dendias, attended an event presenting Greece’s contribution to the United Nations’ WFP (World Food Programme) project on the reconstruction of the city’s port.
The port of Benghazi is a critical entry point for delivering food and humanitarian assistance to the wider region of North Africa and Sahel.
The Greek contribution concerns the renovation of the port’s container warehouse (7,500 square meters), as well as the construction of a corridor (550 meters) connecting Platform No 1 with Platform No 6.
