Global Gateway Forum 2027 (Brussels, 8-9 June 2027)

The European Commission has officially announced that the 3rd Global Gateway Forum will take place on 8–9 June 2027 in Brussels. The upcoming summit takes on a highly strategic character, as the European Union has revised its investment target upward. The EU now aims to mobilize €400 billion for sustainable infrastructure worldwide, surpassing its original target of €300 billion.

The forum will bring together heads of state, private sector executives, and civil society representatives. Keynote speakers and leaders of the event include European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, and Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Síkela.

The two-day agenda will focus on four core pillars:

  • Clean Energy: Green transition and energy grid networks.
  • Digital Development: Expanding secure digital networks in developing economies.
  • Transport: Creating strategic trade corridors.
  • Health: Strengthening healthcare infrastructure across Africa, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific.

In parallel, the forum will seal the EU’s newly expanded alliance with the World Bank to fund 18 major infrastructure projects. It will also see the implementation of stricter transparency and human rights protection rules recently adopted by the European Parliament for EU investments in third countries.
