Assessment of Greece’s Emergency Financial Contribution to the International Organization for Migration for Addressing the Humanitarian Crisis in South Sudan

In 2024, Greece contributed an amount of EUR 50,000 to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to address the humanitarian crisis in South Sudan.

According to the relevant IOM impact assessment report, the Greek contribution supported the provision of essential primary health care services to vulnerable populations in the city of Wau, improved access to quality medical examinations and to maternal, sexual, and reproductive health services, and ensured the continuity of critical health services in emergency conditions.

Within the framework of these interventions, emergency medical care was provided to 1,427 individuals and 418 children under the age of five were vaccinated, while the resilience of the local community and trust in the health system were strengthened.
